Hotel Alua - Day 8 Terry
23rd April.
Today is St George’s day and, as a proud Englishman, I think we English should celebrate this day as proudly as the Scots, Welsh and Irish celebrate their special day. It also has a special personal meaning for me as it is the anniversary of the first time that Pat and I went out together. Don’t ask me what year that was because I do not have a date remembering memory, but it was a long time ago.
My holiday friends, Linda, Neil and Roger have all left to go home and I hope they have a safe and pleasant journey. I waved them off and then spent some time in the pool area talking to two other hotel guests (both ladies as you might have guessed) Michelle and Magic.
Today is also the start of the second week of my holiday and, my word, the time has gone so quickly. ‘Time flys when you’re having fun’ it’s said and in this instance it has been very true. It’s still nice and warm but the sun was a bit shy and the breeze a little sharp at first but it wasn’t long before it became very hot and the breeze a welcome distraction.
After lunch I was back in the pool bar area doing the usual, reading people watching and the odd drink here and there. Nothing exciting, just relaxing.
Before dinner I went down early for a pre dinner drink with the new intake of guests. Three very nice couples who I am certain I will get on well with especially as they would like have a go on the bowling green. I have offered to go with them and give them some basic tips if they so desire so it’s now up to them.
After dinner I tucked myself away in the comfortable lounge area and alternated between reading and watching before going up to my room to face-time Pat. Just another day in Paradise.
