Hotel Alua - Day 12 Terry
April 27th
Just a short hiatus but like a bad penny I am now back. Only a few days to go now so I will continue to take it easy. I’ve had more sun than I expected, met a number of very nice people and got more involved in the activities on offer at this hotel than I thought I would. Two days of self imposed confinement to my room was no different from if it had rained for that time so it hasn’t affected my enjoyment in any way.
A bit late for breakfast this morning but felt better for something substantial to eat and no coughing. After breakfast I tucked myself away in the lounge and immersed myself in the paper and the puzzles after which, for the first time, I left the hotel and walked down to the shore and the local square which houses a supermarket and a restaurant. Trust my luck, I hadn’t gone 50 yards when it started to rain and the wind got up several notches. On the way I popped into the other Hyatt hotel and had a look around. It looks very nice and maybe Saga might look at using this hotel as well. You never know. Like the mummies little trooper that I am, I completed and enjoyed what was a little walk down memory lane. It was however better the first time when Pat and I walked hand in hand. I’m such a romantic. Stop laughing.
When I got back to the hotel I watched a demonstration of Sangria making. I enjoyed watching but refused the tasting. Pat would have loved it.
After lunch I returned to my cubby hole in the lounge area to read as it was still cloudy and getting chilly outside then joined in to play Sjoelback(2nd) (not as good as my own invention of marbleous. My problem is I am a genius but no entrepreneur) and onto pool playing against myself (1st and 2nd).
Dinner over I retired to my room because the cough was starting to return (too much excitement) and because the entertainment this evening was THE Dire Strait. Very aptly named I’m afraid.
Pat has nearly finished preparing for her next holiday and it would seem that I have a lot of work to do in the garden so what with that and doing my own washing and ironing of my holiday clothes when I get home I will have plenty to occupy me.
Thanks to all those people following this blog I hope you are enjoying it. For those not following the blog I suppose it’s a bit pointless telling them what a treat they are missing. No room for false modesty here.
Glad your a little better Terry, enjoy your last couple of days.
