Hotel Salobrena Suites - Day 9 PAT
2nd April
I had been debating whether to do any more trips and, if so, which ones to take or simply use the rest of my days just resting.
I spent the night in the ‘spare’ room but got up early this morning to check the situation in my own room. Still no electric so I decided to have breakfast then get the shuttle back into Salobrena and see what the situation was when I got back.
This was my third visit to Salobrena but my first on my own. I wanted to see a different part of town and, hopefully, find some nice shops and, if I had time, to get to see the church. I did find some nice clothing shops (dresses, tops and t-shirts) and had a nice leisurely time browsing. I didn’t buy anything (was that a big sigh of relief I heard from Terry) and I didn’t have time to get to the church before I had to make my way back to the shuttle pick up area where I had a nice coffee in a cafe we had used previously.
I didn’t bother to check my room on return to the hotel but elected to go straight into lunch. When I did get back to my room there was still no electric but I did sit on the balcony for a while and enjoyed it because the sun had moved over, the wind was non existent and the lovely sea view was at its best. Eventually I went inside to try and contact Terry but without success as, what with him working outside on the shed and me on my trips, we have been a bit like ships that pass in the night. Then I fell asleep.
When I awoke the electric had still not been restored so I was reconciled to the fact that I would have to change rooms permanently. Time to start packing up my stuff. Halfway through the packing the lights came back on. Hallelujah.
The newcomers to the hotel appear to be clones of Brian and I really don’t want to associate with them especially as I got collared to sit with them at dinner tonight because they saved a seat for me. I’ve made my mind up that I will decide where I sit and who with should I wish to.
It was D.J. night tonight but I didn’t bother and came straight to my room after dinner for a quiet night by myself.
