Hotel Salobrena Suites - Day 8 PAT

 1st April

Nearly all the people I have met and talked to while I have been here have gone home today (I hope it wasn’t something I said) and four new guests will be arriving. It will be interesting to see what they are like.

I sat outside this morning and chatted to two of the few guests that are still here and it was nice and comfortable because the wind has dropped and I noticed the water level in the pool had lowered which appears to show that work is going on to get it back into use. When, I don’t know and I am not too bothered because it isn’t affecting me but I do feel sorry for those people who do have missed out.

I’ve had two problems today and the first is a man called Brian. He is here with his wife who is very nice but he is a real pain in the backside to the point that I refuse to be in his company. He is obnoxious and self centred and wants to be the centre of everybody’s attention. I am not going to let him spoil what has been a really nice holiday so far. I now have chosen to sit on my own in the restaurant and I have explained to the Rep why. I’m quite happy on my own so that’s not a problem.

The second problem was that all the electric in my part of the hotel went down and although most of it has been rectified two rooms are still completely without electric and mine just happens to be one of them. Although all my stuff is still in the room I have a second room which I will be staying in tonight hoping that my room will be sorted soon. They had better not think of charging me extra because I’ve got two rooms or as they say “the fur will fly”. I’ve taken the view that it’s not the end of the world and the hotel staff have acted very quickly to make me as comfortable as possible. So much excitement.
