Hotel Alua - Days 13 & 14 Terry
28th April
I am winding right down now and getting as much sun as I can during my last two days here. The only change to my normal routine today was that this evening I sat with the other Saga guests, some of whom will be on the same plane home as me because they only booked for a week. They are a very nice bunch and it was a pleasant evening and I was later than usual when I left them to go to my room.
It seems that Spain and Portugal have had problems with a loss of electrical power which I was worried might affect Pat’s flight to Spain tomorrow but she has been contacted by Saga telling her that, at present, it doesn’t look like there will be any problems. I’m crossing my fingers for her.

Due to my two days of inactivity I had to relinquish my Boules title by default but this morning I had the chance to reclaim my title and to preserve my unbeaten record. I decided not to rely on brute force but to introduce a degree of delicacy to my armoury. Disappointedly I put my close second down to a lack of practice and match fitness. I don’t suppose the world will notice. The darts tournament started immediately afterward so I took the opportunity to attempt to improve on my lamentable previous performance. If the 9 players who beat me hadn’t turned up I would have won. Got to look on the bright side.
After a dull start, this afternoon really perked up and the hot weather returned with a vengeance. Sat outside for a while but eventually I went up to my room to start packing properly, which was 98% completed before dinner, so that I could enjoy most of my last evening.
I spent a nice last evening with the other Saga guests and it was a nice way to round off the holiday
I haven’t heard from Pat to the contrary so I assumed that she got away without any problem but I won’t know for sure until she has WiFi available which may be later tonight or tomorrow.
P.S. Pat’s flight was delayed and she never arrived at her hotel until 10.15p.m. She was provided with a meal and then went off to the bar to have a well needed nightcap.
