Hotel Alua - Day 2 Terry
17th April
I attended the welcome meeting that took place after breakfast just in case there was any new information that I wasn’t aware of but nothing of any significance had changed from my previous visit to the hotel.
The sun was out, the sky relatively clear and the temperature had jumped several points since yesterday, the only problem being a chilly wind but I found a sunbed by the far side of the hotel against a wall that acted as a windbreak. Perfect. Despite the wind there were a few hardy souls topless. Unfortunately they were all men which was a bit disappointing as a few bare breasted maidens would certainly have enhanced the scenery. Must have a word with reception to see what they can do about this.
The chief animator, Ray, talked me into playing a game of getting four coloured doughnuts in a line but omitted to tell me that the line could be diagonal as well as horizontal and vertical. I have appealed against his victory and he has been disqualified for non disclosure. Serves him right.
It’s right at this point to say that, so far, the food has been good and varied and lunch was very enjoyable. It had been my intention to return to my spot around the pool but the sun had moved over and that spot was now in shadow so I had to move into a slightly more exposed area but it was still sufficient to enjoy the warmth of the sun. I even rolled up the sleeves of my jumper so that I could get a bit of a tan on my arms as well as my legs. Best to make the most of it in case the rainy days return.
The evening entertainment was a kids disco to begin with which was really fun to watch followed by a professional male singer doing anything from opera to pop. Very enjoyable evening especially my dances with the animation girls. Oh, to turn back the years.
